Working in the BPO industry can take you out of your comfort zone every now and then, especially when top management offers you a new challenging role. In 2016, when DBI directors assigned me a new position as Account Specialist, I doubted I could do the job. Despite, lack of confidence in my capability, I carried on with the responsibility. Thanks to the encouragement and guidance of Source Partners Director, Pipes E., I was able to familiarize myself with the nitty-gritty of my role. Currently, I take charge of corresponding with all of DBI’s Source Partners, offering questionnaires, and ensuring that we have information to deliver to our clients. Adapting to the job was not that easy, but I learned how to do it well one day at a time.
On my rest hours or days off work, I just see myself spending time at home, taking much needed sleep, watching TV, or getting in touch on social media. I am not that outgoing, and I simply enjoy being a homebody. As I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth, I take career life very seriously and look forward to establishing a sustainable business someday to support my siblings and to return my loving mother a favor. She deserves a better life after working hard so we could have good education. I’d like to travel the world someday as well with someone special. Charity extends beyond home, so I endeavor to help feed the homeless too.
I think this life mantra epitomizes my goal— “Take the shoes off of your teeth and quit running your mouth about what you are going to do and put them on your feet and take some steps or run towards accomplishing your goals.”
